Straight answers

How to use Head & Paws.

What is Head & Paws?

An independent, Scotland-based dog-owner information platform. It helps people choose, care for, understand and explore with their individual dog.

Is the Dog Guide veterinary advice?

No. It provides general information and trusted signposting. It does not replace advice, diagnosis or treatment from a veterinary professional.

Why does the guidance sometimes avoid a simple yes or no?

Because age, health, temperament, experience and environment can materially change what is right for an individual dog. We explain typical patterns without presenting them as guarantees.

Where is Head & Paws based?

Head & Paws is a personally owned, non-commercial information resource run by Luke Allan in Scotland. The guidance begins with UK terminology and sources while also signposting selected international organisations and official information.
