Our story Blairgowrie, Perthshire · Argyll and Bute

Small dogs.
Big idea.

Head & Paws began with Odie: born in Blairgowrie, Perthshire, equipped with considerable character and some firmly held views about how dogs should be looked after.

Odie · Born 2020 · Chief Woofer

The original Head & Paws.

Odie supplied the name, the personality and the inspiration for Head & Paws—and naturally appointed himself Chief Woofer. His standards are exacting: walks should be interesting, blankets should be plentiful and the time between hearing a treat packet and receiving a treat should be kept to an absolute minimum.

Two beginnings. One home.

Odie was born in Blairgowrie, Perthshire. Finn was born in Argyll and Bute. Between them, they provide a dependable supply of character, curiosity and first-hand opinions about life as a small dog.

Head & Paws is now personally owned and run by Luke Allan as an independent, non-commercial dog-information resource. It is not operated by the former limited company. Odie remains Chief Woofer; Finn continues to approach his junior appointment with considerable enthusiasm.

The site now concentrates on practical guidance for dog owners, responsible choices, trusted welfare signposting and positive stories from Scotland and beyond.

Guidance built carefully.

Head & Paws checks material against established veterinary, animal-welfare and official sources, states where general information ends and professional advice begins, and updates guidance when reliable information changes.
